THE VALUE OF THE DIAGNOSTIC
METHODS OF TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE (TCM) IN MODERN MEDICINE
Zbigniew GARNUSZEWSKI

In recent years the unusual development of the western
medical diagnostic methods has been observed. These methods enable
the establishment of an errorless diagnosis. Some doctors express
the opinion that nowadays the old diagnostic methods of TCM are
unnecessary. However, my opinion in this matter is quite different.
On the ground of my long experience I conclude that the diagnostic
methods of TCM are very useful for western doctors for several reasons.
1. The modern diagnostic methods of western medicine are very expensive
and therefore are accessible only for men of means. For that reason
the modest and poor people prefer the diagnostic methods of TCM.
2. The diagnostic methods of TCM have some advantages over western
diagnostic methods, because they can assess the patient's energetic
state, the stock of Qi energy, the balance of Yang-Yin, and the
electric conductivity of a particular meridian.
It is beyond any doubt that every western doctor interested in acupuncture
should know the diagnostic methods of TCM.
